Your choice of cooking equipment (saucepan, double-boiler, crock pot, etc)
Ingredients
7gramscannabis(add more or less depending on desired potency)
250mlcoconut oil(if using more than 7 grams of cannabis, you may need more coconut oil)
Instructions
Decarboxylate your cannabis to activate the THC & CBD. Put it in the oven at 240°F (115°C) for about 20-40 minutes or check out our extensive guide on how to decarb cannabis.
Place the cannabis and coconut oil in your saucepan (or whatever you chose to use) and heat them together on a low heat for a few hours. If using a saucepan, allow the mixture to infuse for at least 2-3 hours on low heat, stirring occasionally. If using a slow cooker, 5-6 hours on low heat, stirring occasionally. If using a double-boiler, 6+ hours on low heat, stirring occasionally. You can add a little bit of water to the mixture to help keep it from burning. Ensure the temperature of the infusing oil does not exceed 240°F (115°C) so your cannabinoids do not burn and lose potency.
After the mixture has infused, take it off the heat and strain out the cannabis material. Carefully pour the mixture through a cheese cloth or strainer and store the infused oil in a bottle, jar, or container.
Notes
If you added water during the infusion process, remember to remove it before storing the oil. Place your infused coconut oil in the fridge and the oil will harden and separate from the water. Discard the water once separated. If you are in a rush, it is possible to do a quick infusion. Fully decarb your cannabis in the oven then let the cannabis and coconut oil infuse in a saucepan on low heat for 30 minutes - 2 hours. Stir regularly while infusing and strain once finished.
