Ingredients

  • 250ml vodka
  • 1 - 3.5g cannabis (can be dried or fresh)

Instructions

  • Decarboxylate your cannabis to activate the THC in it. This step is essential if you want your vodka to produce psychoactive effects. To decarboxylate: place your cannabis in an oven safe dish or tray with a lid. If no lid, tightly cover with foil instead. Place in preheated oven at 240F/115C for 35 minutes then let it cool down with the lid on.
  • Chop up or grind your decarboxylated cannabis then add it straight into your vodka bottle. Glass jars can also be used instead of a bottle if infusing small amounts.
  • Leave the vodka with the cannabis in it to infuse for up to 7-14 days. Shake the bottle/jar twice a day to help with the infusion. If you are in a rush, you can do a quick infusion by heating the vodka/cannabis mixture on a low heat for 2-3 hours instead. Make sure the temperature of the vodka does not go above 60C to avoid evaporating the alcohol. The longer you allow the mixture to infuse, the more concentrated it will be.
  • Once infused, remove the cannabis from your vodka using a coffee filter, cheese cloth, or strainer. If you did a quick infusion using heat, allow the infused vodka to cool down before putting it into a bottle. Your weed infused vodka is now ready to use!

Notes

*You can use fresh non-decarboxylated cannabis to give your vodka a nice scent, colour, and flavour profile however it will not have the psychoactive effects you would get when using dry decarboxylated cannabis.
*If you do not have a bottle to use, glass mason jars also work perfectly as an alternative. Glass jars may also be better for infusing smaller amounts.
*You can also use AVB (already vaped bud) in this recipe, and because it is already decarb'd from the vaping process - you do not need to decarb it again.
*To avoid having to strain out the weed after infusing, you can make a "teabag" style package instead and drop that into your vodka. Remove the weed "teabag" after infusing.
*An optional step for those who did a slow no-heat infusion:
  • On the day that you are ready to remove the cannabis from the vodka, boil a large pot of water big enough to submerge the majority of the bottle (do not submerge the top). Take it off the heat as soon as the water is boiled then place the sealed bottle into the hot (not boiling) water for 30-45 minutes. The heat can help release all the good stuff from the weed and give your infused vodka a stronger psychoactive effect.
